The historic Stable Hall showcases and celebrates the rich musical legacy of San Antonio and South Texas, from the Czech-German dance bands and traditional conjunto of the late 19th century to industry icons like Selena, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash.

Evoking the spirit of quintessential Texas dance halls, this communal gathering place (opening in early 2024) will accommodate up to 1,000 guests and lend its stage to national touring artists, regional musicians, and the very best in local Alamo City talent. Stable Hall is just a short walk from Hotel Emma’s front door, surrounded by the award-winning restaurants, shops, and open green spaces that make up our Pearl neighborhood.

HISTORY

Constructed in 1894 and designed by Bavarian-born architect Otto Kramer, Stable Hall is characterized by its striking oval shape and ornate Victorian brickwork. The building has undergone countless renovations and reimaginings over the years, where many of its most significant architectural features were either concealed or removed. In 2006, artisans meticulously replicated elements like the stone pediment, cupola, and custom interior iron work from the original 1980s ink-on-linen architectural drawings.
