Every visit to Hotel Emma at Pearl is shaped by history. Once part of the 19th-century Pearl Brewery’s thriving compound, the original 1894 Brewhouse has been carefully restored and reimagined as an award-winning boutique hotel built around spirited local cuisine and authentic South Texas culture. The Historic Pearl neighborhood’s revitalized architecture, green spaces, art installations, and gathering places are all part of an ongoing preservation effort that keeps Pearl flourishing as one of the most celebrated destinations in Texas.
To help sustain this work, we’ve introduced the Historic Pearl Preservation Charge, a 3.65% contribution applied to all rooms, dining, and retail transactions. This charge directly supports the continued care and upkeep of Pearl’s public spaces and historic structures, including landscaping, building maintenance and preservation, safety and security resources, and the year-round community events that bring the neighborhood to life.
Your Emma visit helps protect Pearl’s heritage, hospitality, and one-of-a-kind character for future generations of locals and travelers alike. The Hotel Emma team is grateful for your partnership in preserving the San Antonio neighborhood we proudly call home.
